SILENT WITHDRAWALS OF CONTACT IMPROVISATION

Contact improvisation (CI) is a dance practice that does not follow music (it is often practiced in silence) in which the physical contact points, between at least two dancers, become the starting point of an exploration made of improvised movements.

in addition to this comes into play the global contact (auditory, kinetic, perceptive / energetic and also emotional and immaiginifico) of the dancer with his partners and with what is around (the earth, the space, the force of gravity, etc. .).

Jam is the event where a group of dancers (at least 4, usually, but also 30, 40) have the opportunity to practice CI together. It does not provide a conduction and can be supported by music or not.

The Libera Mente APS association is firmly convinced that contact improvisation has great potential on a social and communicative level and carries within itself an unequivocal educational message. In addition to being the vanguard of the natural and authentic movement, it teaches respect for one’s body and the other, crumbles the taboos linked to physical contact between people, a legacy of our secular culture, gives joy and well-being to those who practice it, reconnect man to his creativity and the primordial dimension of the game.

The Contact Silence retreats project is a retreat system that combines contact improvisation with meditation, silence and nature. The idea is to create opportunities, throughout the year, to devote yourself completely to intense practice and at the same time find the refreshment of silence and nature.
